Make Room For You in Your Calendar
The holidays are approaching, and I don’t know about you, but the pressure to do it all always seems to creep in during this time of year. It’s pretty amazing we are still standing. It’s no surprise that the No. 1 complaint I hear is people not having enough energy. We move like we are treading water, we don’t stop. We Never Stop! But how can we? I mean, really. There is always so much to do. There are bills to pay, work to be done, kids to raise, relationships to keep together, not to mention trying to fit a little personal TLC into our lives. So what gives?
Let’s take a look at your to-do list or calendar. What is one or two things this week that you can take off your list? I know it seems impossible, but I know you can do it.
Next step, take it off of your list. If it doesn’t need to be done today, put it off for another day or another week or month or off completely! Often our to-do lists are crammed with tasks that just don’t matter when we look at the big picture.
It’s time to make you a priority. Make your to-do list for today only items that you will get done today. Otherwise it’s overwhelming and pointless. Be specific- Don’t put down pay bills and keep it on the list all week. Instead, write down which bills that need to be paid so you can mark them off your list. It’s amazing how good it feels to put a check mark next to each task.
A great resource for planning is the Bullet Journal. Check it out here: The Bullet Journal- How to get started.
My favorite tutorial and overview of pages is by Kara from Boho Berry Boho Berry Bullet Journal Overview. She is artsy and fun and also shows you that you can make it purely your own. I would share mine, but mine is much too boring!
It’s my favorite way to stay organized and make sure I am planning my days and weeks productively.
What’s your favorite way to stay organized and how do you fit in taking care of yourself? Can you clear your schedule this week to make time for you? I dare you to and see what happens!
Cheers to you!
